Circle 10 (C10) Climbing Instructor Course
C10 is offering a BSA Climbing Instructor course, with a Tower Only option, to prepare units (Troops, Crews, Ships, Teams, etc) to take advantage of this high adventure activity. The course provides the necessary skills to conduct Scout climbing activities and makes equipment available. All sessions are mandatory for completion (except option Sid day of climbing & Fri alternative WMWR).
BSA Climbing Instructor – gives the student the knowledge to take their unit rock & tower climbing. It allows the instructor to use C10’s climbing equipment. This course is designed after the Texas Mountaineers beginning course with BSA particulars from National Camp School. A good over all course that will get the student started in the sport of rock climbing and give you the skills to manage & oversee unit climbing. This 38 hour course provides the following cards - (a) 14-16 years old – BSA Youth Climbing Instructor; (b) 16-18 years old – Instructor in Training (IIT), (c) Tower Only, or (d) 18+ - BSA Climbing Instructor (over 21 will receive a Lead Instructor Card).
